“ Backpack for Kids ” School Supply Drive

Let’s turn our summer celebration into a season of giving! This August, during the annual Bhindeshi Summer Picnic, we are hosting a dedicated school supply drive to support students within the Northshore School District.

As we enjoy the sun, food, and community, let’s ensure every child in our district starts the new school year with the tools they need to succeed.

How to Contribute

We are collecting essential items to fill backpacks for local students. Please consider bringing one or more of the following new, unused items to the picnic:

• The Essentials: Sturdy backpacks (all sizes), 3-ring binders, and spiral notebooks.
• Writing Tools: No. 2 pencils, ballpoint pens (blue/black), highlighters, and erasers.
• Art Supplies: Crayola crayons (24-count), colored pencils, and washable markers.
• Organization: Pocket folders, pencil pouches, and glue sticks.

Event Details

• Date: August 2026 (During the Bhindeshi Summer Picnic)
• Collection Point: Look for the designated "Backpack for Kids" booth at the picnic grounds.
• Beneficiary: Students in need within the Northshore School District.

Why Your Support Matters

For many families, the cost of "Back to School" shopping can be a significant financial burden. By donating a backpack or a few packs of pencils, you are directly helping a neighbor’s child feel confident and prepared on their first day of school.
